Author Kevin Krause grew up in the midwest and spent most of his professional life traveling the country responding to environmental disasters. He is a consummate storyteller and when he decided to tell the story of Princess Pepper Pot, her character easily came to life with traits from people he admired most in his own life. He wrote this story as an homage to those women and hopefully to inspire the next generation of Pepper Pots. 

Illustrator Pamela Harwood is a watercolorist, gardener, and
art therapist who has raised two Pepper Pots of her own.
And, she remembers what it's like to wrestle a pony.
